John Max Sports and Wings on Dougall Avenue is the latest in a list of businesses announced as a possible COVID-19 exposure point.

Two additional sites were added to the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit's list Friday including:  Oven 360 on Walker Road with possible exposure on Aug. 23 and 24 and the Tommy Hilfiger store at Windsor Crossing on Aug. 27.

John Max Sports customers may have been exposed on Aug. 26.

Co-owner John O'Kane says he's not happy with the bad press, but he's satisfied with the health unit's assessment.

"This is our first incident after Stage Three. We have put a lot of effort into these protocols," he says. "In one sense I'm happy that the health unit was able to look at our space and see what we're doing and determined we are low risk."

O'Kane tells AM800 News the restaurant went above and beyond to make sure the health unit had all the information they needed.

"The health unit has everything they need should the wish to contract trace based upon their visit on Wednesday," he added.

He says it's hard to control who comes into a restaurant, especially if they're not symptomatic, but restaurants have to keep doing their best.

"I doubt this is going to be the last incident or restaurant on this list ... we know the virus is still around and we all need to be careful and full of precaution."

There are now 11 sites listed on the health unit's potential exposure page.
