Spitfires look to continue recent winning ways against Generals

The Windsor Spitfires will look to continue their winning ways of late when they host the Oshawa Generals at the WFCU Centre Saturday night.

Windsor has won back to back games for the first time all season, and are 4-2 overall since interim coach Casey Torres took over.

The Spitfires are coming off a 4-1 victory against the Barrie Colts on Thursday, while the Generals were beaten 3-2 in overtime against the Ottawa 67s on Wednesday.

Overall, Windsor has a record of 8-18-1-0 on the season.

Forwards Liam Greentree and Oliver Peer have been bright spots in a difficult season, with 37 points and 34 points respectively.

Newcomer Valentin Zhugin has been a nice fit for the Spits as well since being acquired in a trade with Saginaw, putting up 4 goals and 3 assists in 7 games played with Windsor.

Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. tonight, with the AM800 pre-game show with Steve Bell getting underway at 6:50 p.m.

The current home stand for the Spitfires continues tomorrow, when they welcome the Flint Firebirds to town.
