Spitfires Lose Third Straight
Windsor is now in the midst of its longest losing streak of the season after falling 4-3 to the Kitchener Rangers in OHL action at the WFCU Centre Thursday.
Goals from Will Cuyllie and Connor Corcoran gave the Spitfires a 2-0 lead until the Rangers struck for three unanswered markers from Axel Bergkvist, Liam Hawel, and Jonathan Yantsis to make it 3-2.
Jean-Luc Foudy tied things up 3-3 for Windsor early in the third period, but Francesco Pinelli put the game away for Kitchener with a goal in the dying minutes for a 4-3 final.
Egor Afanasyev lead Spitfires scorers with 2-assists on the night and goaltender Kari Piiroinen stopped 18-shots for Windsor in the loss.
Windsor (15-6-3) still sits in eighth in the KIA CHL Top 10, but their third straight loss drops them to second spot in the OHL's West Division behind the Flint Firebirds (17-10-0).
The Spitfires head to Saginaw Saturday to face off against the Spirit at 7pm.
