Spitfires Outgunned by Knights


Windsor missed an opportunity to overtake the Knight's for second spot in the OHL's Western Conference, falling 7-4 in London Friday night.

The Spitfires got jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Will Cuylle and Egor Afanasyev in the first period, but that was the last time they'd be out front with London outgunning them to a 7-4 finish.

Afanasyev had two goals and Curtis Douglas added two assists to lead the Spitfire attack.

Connor McMichael collected a hat-trick and added an assist and Luke Evangelista added four points of his own, scoring once and adding three helpers to pace the Knights.

London has now won seven in a row. The Spitfires have now lost two straight.

Windsor (28-11-5-0-61) remains in fourth spot in the Western Conference, three points behind the second place Knights (31-13-1-1-64) and Saginaw Spirit (30-14-2-2-64).

The Kitchener Rangers (29-11-5-2-65) hold on to top spot in the west.

Windsor continues its road swing in Owen Sound Saturday at 7:30pm
