The Windsor Spitfires have another three game weekend in the Ontario Hockey League and it begins Thursday night at home.

Windsor will host the Ottawa 67's at the WFCU Centre.

Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m. and the pre-game show on AM800 will begin at 6:30 p.m.

The 67's are the top ranked team in the CHL and Head Coach Trevor Letowski admits it will be a good challenge.

Windsor is coming off a win and a loss in its first road trip of the season, and Letowski is pleased with how the team is playing.

"We like the way we look, we want to be a team that's hard to play against, and that's hard for especially early in the season on the road," says Letowski.  "And some of our 16 year olds haven't played in the Ontario Hockey League and it's harder on the road."

Letowski tells AM800 News the strength on offence is a blessing and a challenge.

"It's a different feel to our room, 'cause our forward depth is a lot better than it was last year and it's been hard to find the ice time to be honest for everybody" explains Letowski.  "I think all the guys, the older players, the NHL draft picks, the guys in their draft years, they all want more ice."

Letowski adds the experienced core of returning players is not alone in firepower.

"Our young players are also making kind of a bid for more ice time as well" says Letowski.  "You only get 60 minutes so it's been challenging.  We have 13 forwards that, in my opinion, that should be playing every night and you can only dress 12, so it's been challenging for the staff to figure that out."

Letowski admits he's looking forward to the Saturday game at home against former Spitfires GM and co-owner Warren Rychel and his Barrie Colts at 7:05 p.m. at the WFCU Centre.

The Spits then hit the road for a game Sunday at 2 p.m. in Mississauga against the Steelheads.
