Windsor police have issued an arrest warrant for a 30-year-old Tecumseh woman from an incident with a stolen car.

On Sunday at about 3:45 p.m., police were called to a rural area of the city in the 3600 block of Lauzon Road just east of Lauzon Parkway, south of the railway tracks.

There had been a report of a vehicle being driven on the property without permission.

Officers learned the vehicle had been reported stolen as they headed to the location, which has tall grass and trees.

As the officers pulled up, the car burst out of the tall grass and came toward the two fully marked cruisers.

They tried to position the cruisers to block the vehicle but it crashed into them and took off.

The two officers suffered minor injuries and did not require treatment.

The vehicle is described as four-door blue 2011 Hyundai Sonata bearing Ontario licence plate CJLL 556.

It will have damage to both sides.

The arrest warrant has been issued for Ashley Gelinas on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, two counts of assaulting a police officer with a warrant and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
