Traffic study to be conducted at dangerous county intersection

A traffic study has been approved for a dangerous intersection in the county.
During Wednesday's County Council meeting, a report of a previous notice of motion, presented by Amherstburg mayor, Michael Prue was presented.
The motion asked that County administration conduct a Traffic Control Study at the intersection of County Road 9 and Alma Street due to an increase in motor collisions.
The Windsor Police Service Amherstburg Division stated in a report that in 2019 there was six accidents, 2020 there was four, 2021 saw four as well, and then in 2022 there was a spike with 11 accidents, and 2023, up until September 1, there has been seven.
This intersection is owned by the County of Essex and is located within the Municipality of Amherstburg.
County Council unanimously approved the notice of motion.
