Unifor Local 444 has moved its strike deadline for workers at Magna Integram Windsor Seating.

In a post on social media, local president Dave Cassidy says the new strike deadline date is Tuesday, November 7 at 11:59 p.m. instead of November 4.

He says he wanted to move the deadline after the Stellantis ratification vote and says bargaining will continue over the weekend.

"The committee is still working, they're working through their issues," says Cassidy.  "They're going to be working this weekend through their issues and hopefully we get a tentative in place by that Tuesday night."

Last month, workers voted 99 per cent in favour of strike action if needed to back contract demands.

The local represents roughly 900 workers at the Patillo Road facility in Lakeshore.

Integram is a tier 1 supplier for the Windsor Assembly Plant and production operations at the place could be impacted if Integram workers walk off the job.
