UPDATE: Police Investigation near Downtown Windsor

Windsor police have re-opened an area of Mercer near Elliott near the downtown following an investigation.

Officers had their guns drawn Wednesday afternoon and focused their attention on a house in the area.

Police were at the same home earlier this summer for a shots fired investigation.

Bradley Wade Jones was visiting family in the area when he came across the scene.

He fully supports police going in to clean up the neighbourhood of crime.

"I see these different houses that have popped up around Windsor in the last few years and I think it is wonderful that they [Windsor police] are going in and doing what they need to do. Hopefully the judge and crown do their end as well," he says.

Jones didn't find the scene scary at all.

"Not at all. It is scarier to see what happens when the police aren't around."

Police will only say it is an active investigation and there is no direct threat to public safety.
