A new development in a Windsor murder case.

A charge of first-degree murder has now been laid against Johnathon Dasilva.

The 24-year-old was originally charged with second-degree murder after the body of a woman was discovered in a home on Moy Ave. near Wyandotte St. E. in August of 2019.

Police say that after further investigation and based on new evidence, the charge was upgraded.

Investigators have said that the victim and the accused were known to each other.
