VIDEO: Community Use Returns at Area Public Schools
The community use of schools at the Greater Essex County District School Board is back on.
The school permits were put on 'pause' last week due to a work-to-rule campaign by education workers in Ontario.
Several meetings were cancelled including the Ward 9 meeting.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees represents custodians, maintenance, clerical, information and educational assistants at the schools board.
At the local public school board, CUPE members consist of 550 custodians, maintenance, clerical and information technology staff.
With the tentative agreement that was reached Sunday night, the work-to-rule campaign is over and permits for rentals are being issued.
