VIDEO: CP Holiday Train Rocks Downtown Windsor
It's another year spreading Christmas cheer for the CP Holiday Train.
Cold winds didn't stop thousands of residents from packing the Canadian Pacific Rail Yard off Caron Avenue for the annual concert and food drive Friday night.
Former Great Big Sea lead singer Alan Doyle rocked the crowd with the Beautiful Band, but as always, Santa headlined the show.
Brent Hyslop and his seven-year-old son Jasper bundled up and kept their father son tradition alive.
"We've come down every year for four or five years now, so it's just part of our Christmas tradition," says Hyslop.
A shivering Hyslop tells AM800 News it's all about the kids.
"It's fun, it's entertaining, they put on a good show," he says. "Kids like this kind of stuff. They get to see Santa and all the lights."
Stefan Deters brought his wife Emily and daughters Elle and Madison to the celebration for the first time.
"It's all about Christmas, just seeing everybody and having a good time," says Deters. "We wanted to see it last year and missed it, so we definitely wanted to see it this year, which we have now."
Food and money collected at the event will help stock the shelves of 15 food banks in Windsor-Essex.
