Residents at a downtown Windsor highrise, forced out because of a fire last month, are still waiting for word on when they will be able to return home.

Management from Westcourt Place posted on Facebook Thursday afternoon that it is still 'waiting for results from the Air Quality Tests" before they get a better indication of a timeframe for the next steps that need to be taken before occupancy.

On November 12th, a fire in the parking garage resulted in more than 200 tenants having to find other accommodations because of a lack of hydro, water and heat.

Since then, crews have been cleaning the building.

The cause was listed as an electrical failure that resulted in a car fire that spread to seven vehicles and smoke throughout the building, which also houses some offices and provincial offences court.

A class action lawsuit has been launched on behalf of residents seeking $35-million.
