Windsor City Council to Finalize Plans for Ward 7 Byelection
A special meeting of Windsor city council will decide what's next for the Ward 7 seat.
When council meets Monday night, they will be asked to approve a bylaw to move forward with a byelection to replace the seat vacated by Irek Kusmierczyk.
He stepped down from the council seat after being elected Liberal MP for the riding of Windsor-Tecumseh in the October federal election.
If approved, a nomination period would open Tuesday and close on March 13 at 2pm.
Administration has budgeted $120,000 to cover the cost of the byelection, with that money coming from the city's reserves.
Monday's meeting is set to begin at 4:15pm.
