Windsor Comes Out on Top Over Kitchener in OT

Windsor didn't let losing become a habit, pulling out a 5-4 overtime win over the Rangers in Kitchener.

It was a wild one at Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Sunday with five Spitfires contributing to the score sheet.

Tyler Angle led Windsor with a goal and two assists and Egor Afanasyev scored the game winner in overtime.

Jonathan Yantsis was the top scorer for the Rangers with a goal and an assist.

Kari Piiroinen bounced back from Saturday's loss in Flint, making 24 saves for his first win since returning to OHL action from the World Junior Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic.

Windsor (25-9-5-0) regains its place atop the Western Conference and Kitchener is now tied with the Saginaw Spirit, one point behind the Spitfires.

The Spitfires are back on the ice against the Erie Otters at the WFCU Centre next Saturday at 7pm.
