More alternatives have been announced in response to possible school closures in Windsor-Essex.

The City of Windsor will offer day camp programs on Monday for parents looking for last minute options. Programs run from 7:30am until 5:30pm and will be offered at Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex, Optimist Community Centre and Forest Glade Community Centre for ages four and up.

Parents can call the Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex to pre-register but all three locations will be open at 7:30am and ready to go, according to the release.

The Town of Essex will also hold day camp programs at the Essex Community Centre for children ages four to12 years.

Kids can be dropped off at 7:30am and picked up as late as 6:00pm.  The cost per child is $35 each day or $145 for the week.

According to the release, pre-registration is required and space is limited — parents can call the centre or visit www.essexconnect.ca to register.

The Town of LaSalle is ready had already announced the Vollmer Complex will be operating a day camp at a cost of $35 per day for children between four and 12.

Drop off starts at 7:30am and children must be picked up by 5:30pm at the latest.

Pre-registration through the town's website or the Vollmer Complex is required for LaSalle's camp as well.

All three municipalities are offering a refund if parents pre-register and school is not cancelled Monday.

A strike Monday would leave tens of thousands of students who attend Catholic and French Catholic schools in Windsor-Essex with no classes to go to.

The Windsor-Essex public boards say all of their schools will remain open.
