WINDSOR — A 22-year-old Windsor man has been charged after allegedly pointing a laser at an aircraft.

On Wednesday, June 3, 2020, around 10pm, police were called to the area of Riverside Dr. East and Goyeau for a report of a green laser being pointed at a helicopter.

The aircraft was in the United States and was able to use equipment to pinpoint the exact location of the laser.

The suspect was arrested without incident and officers located and seized a laser pointer on the suspect.

Ali Zuhair, 22, of Windsor is charged with mischief, failing to comply with a release order and breach of probation.

Police say not only is pointing a laser at an aircraft extremely dangerous because it affects the vision of the pilot, it is also illegal.
