Windsor Man Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Charges

A Windsor man has pleaded guilty to child porn charges.

42-year-old Richard Dalkeith entered the plea on Tuesday to possession and accessing child pornography.

Court heard, Dalkeith downloaded more than 1,100 child porn images between September and October of 2018.

The images were of children between the ages of six and 16.

As heard on AM800 news, Dalkeith was charged by Windsor police in December 2018.

The Internet Child Exploitation Unit conducted the investigation after a provincial strategy highlighting concerns surrounding internet child exploitation.

A search warrant was conducted at an apartment unit in the 300 block of University Avenue East.

At that time, officers seized a number of computer and external electronic data storage devices.

Dalkeith's lawyer Elizabeth Craig has requested a gladue report due to her client's aboriginal background.

Sentencing is set for March 31st.
