Windsor Powerlifter Suspended for Banned Substance


A Windsor powerlifter has been suspended for an anti-dope violation.

The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sports announced on Thursday that Kelly Branton, received a four-year sanction.

Branton will be ineligible to take part in the sport, including training.

His urine sample was collected during out-of-competition doping control on April 23, 2019 and revealed the presence of five banned substances.

The suspension will conclude on May 23, 2023.  

Branton lives in Windsor.
