Windsor Regional Hospital Begins forming 2020 Strategic Plan

A new Strategic Plan is forming for Windsor Regional Hospital in the New Year.

Hospital President and CEO David Musyj says a great review in 2019, doesn't mean there isn't room for improvement. He says thousands of frontline employees and volunteers contribute to the hospitals plan every year, asking where should we be and where do we want to be?

Musyj spoke to AM800 News at the Windsor Regional Hospital Board of Directors Meeting and says some areas of focus have already been brought forward.

"Continuing to focus on patient safety and patient quality, making sure we're enhancing those. Making sure we're a workplace of choice so employees want to work here and the last part of the current Strategic Plan is getting the new Windsor-Essex Hospital planned," he says.

One of the biggest projects is switching to digital records, according to Musyj.

"That's going to be a mammoth task for the organization to move to, but everyone's pretty excited on both campuses ... The target date is Nov. 1," says Musyj. "There'll still be paper, that's not going away, but definitely, any hospital that has moved to a Health Information System Electronically has seen a bunch of benefits as a result."

Musyj tells AM800 News a detailed Strategy for 2020 should be finalized by the beginning of April.
