Windsor's Ward 7 Byelection Finally Goes Today

It's voting day in Windsor's Ward 7.

Electors will cast ballots in a byelection to fill the vacant seat on city council, created when Liberal candidate Irek Kusmierczyk was elected Windsor-Tecumseh MP in last fall's federal election.

The byelection was originally slated for April but was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 12 candidates vying for the position: are Greg Lemay, Farah El-Hajj, Michelle Gajewski, Jeewen Gill, Igor Dzaic, Barb Holland, Ernie Lamont, Michael Malott, Angelo Marignani, Howard Weeks, Thérèse Papineau and Albert Saba.

Voting will take place from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the WFCU Centre Sports Gym at 8787 McHugh St.
