Windsor Spitfires fall 10-7 to London Knights

The Windsor Spitfires tried to hold on against their rivals, the London Knights, but were unable to clinch a win. 

London won the game Thursday evening at the WFCU Centre 10-7. 

In the first period, the Knights were the first team on the scoreboard with a goal. London scored again for a 2-0 lead. 

Windsor put a point on the board with a powerplay goal by Liam Greentree, assisted by Rodwin Dionicio, and Oliver Peer. The game got tied up with another powerplay goal, this time by Spitfires' Cole Davis, assisted by Jacob Maillet. 

Windsor took their first lead of the night with a goal by Ryan Abraham, assisted once again by Maillet and Greentree, ending the period 3-2 for Windsor. 

In the second, the Knights were quick to tie the game up less than two minutes into play. However, the Spitfires didn't let London celebrate for long before taking their lead back with another powerplay goal by Greentree for his second goal of the night, assisted by Peer and Dionicio again. 

Windsor continued to pull away from the Knights with a second goal by Spitfires' Abraham. The Spitfires scored another by AJ Spellacy, assisted by Colton Smith and Ryan Struthers. 

London scored another this period with the scoreboard at 6-4 for Windsor. London scored once more, this time on a powerplay. The Knights were quick to take the lead with two back-to-back goals before the period ended. 

In the third period, London put up another goal, leading 8-6. 

Windsor's Alex Christopoulos scored his first of the game during his 200th OHL career game, assisted again by Peer and Abraham. 

The Knights put up two more goals for the night, winning 10-7. 

The Spitfires will have one day of rest before travelling to Saginaw to take on the Spirit. 

Puck drop for Saturday's game is set for 7:05 p.m., with the AM800 pre-game show with Steve Bell getting underway at 6:50 p.m.
