The remains of a LaSalle woman killed in the Bahamas during Hurricane Dorian are now back in Canada.

AM800 News has learned Alishia Liolli along with her husband Dany and their 17-month son Evans arrived at Pearson International Airport in Toronto just after 4pm on Friday.

The 27-year-old, special education instructor died earlier this month after the Category 5 storm hit the island.

Her family last heard from her on September 1st.

In a statement, the Liolli and Coco families say they would "like to thank the entire community along with the federal government, Justin Trudeau, Chrystia Freeland and the Canadian Embassy for bringing Alishia back home."

A memorial visitation is set for Sunday, September 22nd from 3-5pm and 7-9pm at Families First Funeral Home at 3260 Dougall Ave in south Windsor.

Her memorial mass takes place at 10am on Monday, September 23rd at Assumption Church in west Windsor.

It is the first funeral that will take place at the church since it re-opened after being closed for five years.
