Tilbury Man Charged in Copper Wire Theft Case

A copper wire theft in Chatham-Kent is under investigation.

Chatham-Kent police officers responded to a call Sunday morning about some men pulling a cart in the area of Southwest Warehousing on Raleigh St. in Chatham.

Police spotted one of the men pulling a wagon with five spools of copper wiring inside and covered with a blanket.

The investigation revealed copper wiring was stolen from the warehousing business.

A 46-year-old Tilbury man was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.

He was released pending a future court date.
