Rebecca Barton host

Rebecca Barton

Rebecca grew up in Vancouver and moved to the beautiful Okanagan to complete high school and her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.  After graduating she took a position teaching English in Japan for three years before backpacking throughout South East Asia and Europe.

Rebecca started out at Sun FM and AM 1150 News in Kelowna in 2003 in the sales department, but moved into the newsroom to fulfill her dream of talking for a living. Currently, she works throughout the Okanagan, filling in as needed as co-anchor of the Sun FM Vernon morning show, or sitting in the PM Drive seat. She also helps out as a news reporter and anchor for EZ Rock in Salmon Arm and AM 1150 News in Kelowna.

Over the years Rebecca has had some amazing experiences, including being part of the first ever ‘Have a Heart Radiothon’ in Kelowna, as well as interviewing musicians, politicians and everyday people.  It’s these experiences that she says, make being in the news business so exciting.

Rebecca enjoys music and dance, attempting to ski, travelling and hanging out with her husband and little girls.
