A 30-year-old man from East Amherst has been charged under the Cannabis Act.

The RCMP say a search warrant was obtained for a home on Tyndal Road following a tip to police.

Officers seized a large amount of cannabis, individually packed cannabis edibles, shatter, other THC concentrates, cash, and four firearms with ammunition.

Jacob William Warren Chapman was arrested last Friday and is charged with distributing illicit cannabis, distributing more than 30 grams of dried cannabis, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, and altering or offering to alter the physical properties of cannabis.

The RCMP say firearms charges are expected to be laid at a later date.

Chapman was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Amherst Provincial Court on January 20th.
