(Submitted/Canadian Red Cross)

Seven people from two different families have been displaced after a fire in Kingston Friday night.

In a release, the Red Cross says the fire was reported around 11:45 p.m. and started on the exterior of the older, two-story house that also had a basement apartment.

Volunteers have arranged emergency lodging, food, clothing purchases, comfort toys for children and other support for a couple and a teenaged soon, as well as a woman and three boys under the age of 8.

The home was damaged in the fire, but the Red Cross says there were no reported injuries.
