10 cm snow possible for some areas of Nova Scotia this weekend
Environment Canada says Colchester, Cumberland, Hants and Pictou Counties could see up to 10 cm of snow tonight into Sunday.
A Special Weather Statement issued around 4:45 a.m. Saturday says periods of snow and strong winds are expected to develop this evening over western areas, and spread eastward across northern areas later tonight.
Forecasters say up to 10 cm of snow are expected, along with winds gusting between 70 and 90 km/h before conditions improve on Sunday.
Further, the weather agency says large waves, pounding surf and elevated sea levels are expected on the coast of Bay of Fundy, including the Minas Basin, between 11:00 p.m. Saturday and 3:00 a.m. Sunday.
Environment Canada says minor flooding could occur, and if the storm track or intensity changes, storm surge warnings may be required.
