Charges laid against HRP officer following incident in Eastern Passage

Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT)

The Serious Incident Response Team (SIRT) has laid four charges against a member of the Halifax Regional Police (HRP).

Constable Jeffery LeBlanc will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on November 12th to face charges of uttering threats, improper storage, and possession of a firearm dangerous to the public peace. 

RCMP and HRP officers responded to the Eastern Passage area on October 7th following an incident involving the off-duty officer and a woman known to him.

Cst. Leblanc surrendered to police and was taken into custody following negotiations with police on scene.

The matter was referred to SiRT, which assumed responsibility for the investigation.
