Colchester and Cumberland County ER closures: September 1-7

The Nova Scotia Health Authority has released the schedule of temporary daytime closures for emergency rooms in Colchester and Cumberland county for this week.

In a release, the province says the emergency department at the Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital in Tatamagouche will be closed to the public for the following dates and times:
- Sunday September 1: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Monday September 2: 8:00 a.m to 8:00 p.m.

Government says the emergency room at All Saints Springhill will be shut down as follows this week:
- Sunday September 1: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Wednesday September 4: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
- Thursday September 5: 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

In Pugwash, the emergency department at North Cumberland Memorial Hospital will be closed between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday.

The Nova Scotia Health Authority says the ER in Parrsboro will be shut down daily Monday to Thursday between 8:30 a.m. and 8:30 p.m.

The province says the closures are due to a lack of physician coverage and all four emergency rooms will be available overnight, regardless of a daytime closure.

Overnight coverage will be provided by the paramedic, registered nurse, oversight physician team.
