Emergency Room closures in Cumberland County

Hospital emergency department

As we start the first full week of 2019, the Nova Scotia Health Authority wishes to alert the public to daytime emrgency room closures in Cumberland County.

The province says the emergency department in Parrsboro will be closed as follows:
- Sunday, January 6 from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Monday, January 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, January 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, January 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Thursday, January 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The government is shutting down the emergency room at the North Cumberland Collaborative Emergency Centre in Pugwash on the following days:
- Sunday, January 6 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
- Tuesday, January 8 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Wednesday, January 9 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Thursday, January 10 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  

The health authortiy says the emergency department in Springhill will be closed as follows:
- Monday, January 7 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
- Tuesday, January 8 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Thursday, January 10 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Friday, January 11 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
- Saturday, January 12 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The province says the closures are due to a lack of physician coverage.
