Halifax Regional Police say they are investigating an assault that occurred in the early hours of November 1.
A release says officers responded around 12:20 a.m. to a report of an assault in progress at a residence in the 6100 block of Willow Street.
Police say a man and a woman were confronted at the back door of the residence by two men, one of whom was believed to have a gun, and the man was assaulted before the suspects took off.
The suspects are described as black men with light complexions and average builds, standing between 5'6" and 5'8" tall, and both were wearing black toques with navy blue bandanas with a white design on them, dark hoodies and dark jeans.
Halifax Regional Police say the victim was taken to hospital for treatment of his injuries.
