Kitchen fire forces staff, students out of Bible Hill Junior High
Students at Bible Hill Junior High School were evacuated to Redcliff Middle School on Tuesday after a kitchen fire.
The Bible Hill Fire Brigade responded to the scene and say the fire was contained to the oven and quickly extinguished.
Planning for emergencies & practicing that plan is essential for when an emergency occurs. We want to commend the staff & students @bhjh_huskies for their orderly & efficient evacuation of the building this morning when there was a small but Smokey fire in the kitchen #welldone— Bible Hill Fire (@BHFB) October 1, 2019
Chignecto-Central Regional Centre for Education (CCRCE) Communications Manager Jennifer Rodgers tells our newsroom that staff and students were moved safely out of the school.
She says Redcliff was welcoming and the two sides worked out a way for instruction to resume this afternoon.
Bus dismissal and afternoon pick-ups will still happen at the normal times for Bible Hill Junior High, just at the Redcliff location.
