Libraries prepare to reopen in New Brunswick

The New Brunswick Public Library Service is preparing to safely reopen its 64 libraries.

In a release, Director of Operations Ella Nason says staff are excited to get the libraries ready for the public again, while also ensuring measures are in place to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Libraries in the province will begin reopening in the coming weeks, with services initially being reduced to returning and picking up books, CDs and DVDs.

Nason says services will be expanded to include programming, reference services and computer services as soon as it is safe to do so.

The province says online services provided by the library system will continue.

The public are encouraged to visit the website of the New Brunswick Public Library Service or the Facebook page of a specific library to find out when their library of choice will be reopening.
