Man arrested for drug offences at RCMP officer's home
Police say a man has been arrested for drug offences after he was found intoxicated on the back deck of an RCMP officer's home on Saturday.
A release states an on-duty Shelburne RCMP officer returned to his home on September 5 and found the man and placed him under arrest for public intoxication.
RCMP say the man attempted to escape custody and was arrested a short while later.
A search of the male revealed 20 grams of crack cocaine packaged for individual sales and cash.
31-year-old Bradley Joseph William Barron of Shelburne is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, mischief over $5000 and two counts of resisting arrest.
Police say he was also issued a summary offence ticket for being intoxicated in a public place, was taken to court and remanded into custody pending a court appearance on Tuesday.
RCMP say the man told police he did not know why he chose to sit on the officer's back deck and there is no concern for the officer's safety as a result of the incident.
