Man charged after making threats, shooting a lawn tractor in Tatamagouche

A 33-year-old man from Tatamagouche has been charged after police say he fired multiple shots at a lawn tractor and threatened the victim.

Colchester District RCMP were called to the scene in Tatamagouche around 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday after two men, who are known to each other, got into a confrontation.

Police say the suspect, Ian Carl Frederick Langille, went to the victim's home, leading to the firearm incident and threats.

The suspect was located leaving the area in his vehicle and was arrested without incident.

The RCMP say that a search of the vehicle located a shotgun, marijuana, cannabis, and liquor.

A subsequent search of a home led to the seizure of 11 firearms, including three handguns, 19 knives, and a large quantity of ammunition.

Langille is charged with careless use of a firearm, uttering threats, and mischief.

He was remanded into custody and appeared in Truro Provincial Court on Wednesday.
