New MRI operational at IWK in Halifax

A new MRI scanner is now operational at the IWK in Halifax.

Government spent $6.9 million to buy the replacement scanner and to complete the renovations associated with its installation and use.

These included a dedicated area for anesthesia that will improve patient experience and flow along with reducing wait times.

Public Health says the new MRI suite will serve both children and adults and will ensure their safety and privacy during their exam.
