Nova Scotia marks milestone in export growth
The Department of Finance and Treasury Board says Nova Scotia exports reached a record high in 2019.
A release says exports totaled $6.05 billion last year, an increase of 5.7% from 2018.
The province says this reflects three years of continued increases for the province, which have grown at an average of 5% per year since 2016.
The largest export increases from last year were from seafood products with exports of $2.3 billion, up 13.5%, tire products at $1.2 billion and frozen fruit exports at $138 million.
Machinery and equipment exports sat at $166 million, up 33%, while the export of aerospace parts increased 68% to $86 million.
