NS angling licences available online
Nova Scotia General and Salmon Sportfishing Licences can now be purchased online.
Mike Pollard, President of the Nova Scotia Federation of Anglers and Hunters says in a release, "The electronic licensing system will provide so much flexibility for everyone involved in sportfishing. Individuals deciding to go on a last-minute fishing adventure will be able to do so and get a licence whenever they want."
Fisheries and Acquaculture Minister Keith Colwell adds the purchasing and delivery of general and salmon fishing licences is being modernized.
Government says anglers can continue to purchase qualifying licences in person at one of over 220 vendors in the province.
Disabled anglers who wish to apply for a fishing licence at no cost and anglers wishing to replace a lost licence for a fee can only do so at district offices of the Department of Lands and Forestry.
In 2019, more than 67,000 people participated in sportfishing in Nova Scotia, and the past time contributes approximately $66 million to the provincial economy each year.
