Observant home owner disrupts theft in progress


RCMP say a 16-year-old is under arrest after he was seen entering vehicles in Lower Sackville.

Officers responded to a complaint from a resident who witnessed a male entering vehicles on Old Sackville Road yesterday at 2:45 a.m. 

Police say when they arrived, and officer located the male in a parked vehicle before he fled on foot.

RCMP say the Halifax Regional Police K9-Unit attended and the male was located near a residence on Sackville Drive in Middle Sackville, where he was arrested.

Police say the 16-year-old male from Middle Sackville appeared in court yesterday and is facing multiple charges, including 2 counts of theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, resisting arrest and 4 counts of breach of probation.
