The Canadian Red Cross says four people have been displaced after an overnight fire that gutted a five-unit building in Antigonish.

The fire on Hawthorne Street was reported around 3:30 a.m. on Friday.

The Red Cross says there were no injuries.

The owner lived in one condo, while a couple and one child lived in an adjacent unit.

The agency says all four are staying with relatives or friends in the community and have been assisted by their volunteers for emergency purchases.
