New Glasgow Regional Police are asking the public for assistance identifying the suspect in a home invasion early Friday morning.

Officers responded to a 911 call around 3:30 a.m. after a man burst into a residence on Temperance Street in New Glasgow with a hatchet and demanded money from an occupant before fleeing empty handed.

Police say there were three other people sleeping upstairs at the time and no one was injured.

The suspect is described as a white male standing 6' tall and weighing around 150 lbs who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with an unknown logo on the front, a ball cap and khaki coloured pants.

Investigators are asking people to check their security cameras to help identify the suspect, adding anyone with information should call New Glasgow Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
