Police request assistance to solve break and enter, theft at business

Submitted/RCMP

Halifax District RCMP are asking for the public's help to solve a break, enter and theft in Lower Sackville early yesterday morning.

Officers responded to a commercial alarm at around 1:30 a.m. at a business in the 0-100 block of Cobequid Road and discovered the front door had been forced open.

Police say there was no one inside the business when they arrived, but security footage shows a vehicle pulling up to the front door a few minutes earlier.

RCMP say a suspect exited the vehicle and forced open the front door and entered the business followed by a second suspect who was carrying garbage cans with bags inside.

Police say the suspects filled garbage cans with approximately 350 cartons of cigarettes worth approximately $49,000, the cans were discarded at the site, the bags were removed and loaded into the vehicle and both suspects fled in the vehicle.

The suspect vehicle is described as a large vehicle, possibly a truck, with large headlights and large grille surrounded by a chrome border.

Police say the first suspect appears to be a man dressed completely in black, including a mask, gloves and a hoodie with the hood up, while the second suspect appears to be a man dressed in black shoes, blue jeans, black gloves, a black mask, a grey togue and a black jacket that appears to have white rings around the cuffs.

Anyone with information is asked to call police or call Crime Stoppers.
