Prohibited driver produces fake international licence in Liverpool traffic stop

Police say a driver is facing charges after he gave police a fake international drivers licence during a traffic stop in Liverpool.

A release says officers were on patrol when they stopped a vehicle for erratic driving.

RCMP say the driver produced an international drivers licence that aroused suspicion and upon further investigation, officers determined it was fake and that the driver was prohibited.

He was arrested and when given the Roadside Screening Device, the driver produced a "Warn" result.

Police say the driver is facing driving while prohibited charge, and was ticketed for displaying a fictitious licence, driving without insurance and driving without a valid licence.

The driver is due in court on March 3 to answer to the prohibited driving charge, and is due to answer to the tickets on March 13.
