Provincial Award Encourages Young Innovators
Public school students in grades six to 12 across the province will have the opportunity to bring their business ideas to life through the Minister's Entrepreneurship Award of Excellence.
A release from the Department of Education & Early Childhood Development says three students will be provided with mentorship and $1,000 to launch his/her idea.
"Innovative. Forward-thinking. Leaders. These are some of the words that describe students across our province," said Zach Churchill, Minister of Education and Early Childhood Development. "I'm pleased to work with our schools and the business community to inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs in Nova Scotia."
One student will be chosen from each of the Social Enterprise, Technology and Innovation/Creativity categories.
Since the award's inception in 2018, more than 40 students with 35 ideas have participated.
The deadline for applications is February 20, and more information is available here.
