The RCMP say a 62-year-old man from Quebec has died in a two-vehicle collision in North Sydney.

The incident, involving a small car and a pickup truck, happened at the end of Highway 125 as it turns into Main Street going to Sydney Mines.

Police say weather conditions were poor at the time the vehicle spun sideways on the road and collided with the pickup truck travelling in the opposite direction.

The victim was the sole occupant of the car.

The three people in the truck were transported to hospital by ambulance; two with minor injuries and the third with moderate but non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
