SiRT investigating domestic assault allegations against RCMP member

Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT)

The province's Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) says it is launching an investigation into allegations of domestic assault against an RCMP member.

The agency was contacted October 10th by Halifax District RCMP after they were contacted by someone alleging they had been assaulted by an RCMP member earlier that evening.

SiRT is responsible for investigating all serious incidents involving police in Nova Scotia, including allegations of domestic violence.

The Police Act requires the release of a public report summarizing the result of the investigation within three months of its conclusion.
