Two more deaths, one additional COVID-19 case reported in Nova Scotia Friday

Nova Scotia is reporting two additional deaths related to COVID-19 at the Northwood long-term care home in Halifax Regional Municipality, bringing the total province-wide to 46.

Premier Stephen McNeil said in a release, "all Nova Scotians continue to hold Northwood residents and staff in their thoughts. I hope the families grieving today know their province is with them."

One new case of COVID-19 was identified on Thursday, for a total of 1,008 in Nova Scotia.

There are two licensed long-term care homes and unlicensed seniors' facilities in the province with active cases of COVID-19.

A release states Northwood in Halifax currently has 156 residents and 38 staff with active cases, while one other facility has one staff member with an active case of the virus.

Five individuals are currently in hospital, two of those in ICU, while 722 individuals have now recovered and their cases of COVID-19 are considered resolved.

To date, Nova Scotia has 32,835 negative test results.
