Two people face a slew of firearms charges after an incident that led to a lockdown of Lockview High School in Fall River.

Halifax District RCMP were called to the school around noon on Monday after a report of a man in possession of a firearm on a nearby path.

After ensuring everyone at the school was safe, police received a report of two people on the path with one holding a firearm.

Police identified them and contacted them by phone, and they provided their location.

Eighteen-year-old Colby Ivan James Chaulk of Fall River and a 15-year-old youth were arrested without incident at a business on Fall River Road.

Neither had the firearm but they told police where it could be found, and it was recovered with help from the Halifax Regional Police K9 Unit.

Police say that a home on Fall River Road was searched and additional weapons and ammunition were seized.
