**Updated** RCMP arrest Dartmouth man charged with attempted murder

A 22-year-old Dartmouth man wanted on a province-wide arrest warrant for multiple charges, including attempted murder, has been taken into custody.

Tyqwan Jacardo Downey was arrested without incident on Monday by Halifax District RCMP.

The warrant for his arrest was issued May 12th stemming from a home invasion and stabbing in North Preston on May 8th.

The 54-year-old victim was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Downey also faces charges of break and enter, robbery, and seven firearms-related offences.
